Transitioning Summer Favorites

Many people may have already started putting away their bathing suits and tank top for North Face jackets and rain boots, but just because the weather is getting colder doesn`t mean you have to put away those summer dresses or shirts.  A change of seasons does not mean you have to spend more money on a winter closet.  There are many ways to transition your summer wardrobe for those chilly days that are soon to be.

I have found myself wearing dresses more now than before because I really like to layer my clothing. I am usually found wearing layers because of the bi-polar weather here in Pennsylvania and I never know when the weather will change from 65 degrees to 40.  I also like to layer my clothes since I walk to class in the chilly, crisp air and I will never know if the temperature of the building will be freezing or extremely hot.

Not only do different layers make an outfit look good, but the type of shoes can help make a summer outfit look appropriate for fall.  Investing in a good pair of riding boots is a must for the change of seasons.  I enjoy wearing some cute high socks and riding boots with a dress and a jacket if I am feeling dressy on a day.  If I am feeling lazy I can throw on some leggings, my boots, and a sweater as I walk out the door and still look put together.

Experiment with layers to find your favorite go-to outfit for this season!

Leggings Weather

Now that we are in the full swing of fall, I hope each girl has had their fair share of pumpkin spice lattes, scarves, and riding boots for the change of seasons.  Although I have yet to let my mind settle into "sweater weather", I know the next chilly day I will definitely be sporting one of my favorite sweaters.  Nothing is comfier than a warm cozy, long sweater with a good pair of leggings and boots.

One of my favorite essentials for fall is a good quality pair of black leggings.  I cannot express how important it can be to have at least ONE pair of go-to black leggings.  I could not stress enough how a see-through pair of leggings could ruin an entire outfit.  My absolute favorite brand of leggings is from a fitness and yoga line called Lululemon. This company is a bit pricey, but they have a five year guarantee on any item bought in the store.  I SWEAR by this company.  In high school, I was a competitive dancer meaning I had rehearsals every day of the week from 4:30-9:30 and  I wore my Lululemon wonder under leggings can be found here.  Although these leggings are $98, I have had hours of working out in those pants and they have lasted a minimum of two years.  If I find a tear in the stitching or a hole in the pants, I am able to take them back and get a replacement pair or store credit to purchase a similar pair.

Leggings can be found in almost every single clothing store since they have become such a basic staple in each girls closet.  This means that leggings can range from a $5 at Rue 21, to the new luxurious fitness leggings from Tory Sport that start at $111 (although I feel it is illegal to sweat in leggings that pricey).  I believe investing in a decent pair of leggings is the ultimate time saver in the morning.  I used to own leggings from every store from these good priced VS Pink leggings to a crappy pair from Marshalls or TJ Max, but now I will only wear my Lululemons.  They have many different kinds of pants and after years of them adding up, I always have a pair to wear that go great whether I am running the gym or just lounging around my apartment for the night.

A go-to pair of leggings is just one step to a really cute, sweater weather outfit for fall.
It is possible that you can catch me sporting this outfit in different variations since this is my usual equation for my fall fashion.

Welcome to my blog!

Hello, welcome to my blog!

My name is Elissa and I am a Public Relations major at Slippery Rock University, located in Pennsylvania.  I have a severe obsession with shopping and fashion, the main reason I created this blog.  On this site, you will have the first look at my dream closet, fashion inspirations, deals of the week, and more! My style can range from a pair of Lululemon leggings that I tend to wear to when I am feeling lazy, to a Lilly Pulitzer dress when I want to truly dress to impress.

I cannot wait to get started and see what my blog has to offer.  I hope some of my posts may encourage you to go out of your comfort zone and experiment with other fashion styles that you did not know of prior to my blog.  You`ll hear back from me pretty soon!
